You get rid of your gun and take care of your ten unfortunate children, sir.

Judge Judy is my favorite woman on television. Why? She's a babe. She's intimidating, quick witted, smart, matter of fact, and hilarious. Everything I strive to be. I would love to be the girl sitting in the front of the courtroom while they are filming a live case. She puts idiots in their place. I would love to have her job and put idiots in their place.

Go Judge Judy! You give me incentive to work hard, race home, and watch your justice throwdown at four o'clock. You go, woman.

Weekend Adventures

This weekend was fabulous as several events occurred that took us away from our lazy daily routine. This daily routine included time at our favorite place to study:

The first exciting thing that happened was that SIMONE visited. That was great. She is our best friend and we do not see her very much. We were overjoyed. She came. She plopped down on the floor and began facebooking immediately.

So we did likewise. Except we were on the bed.

Simone then preceded to creep about poor Mrs. Moore's house in search of Shred Ninja. She found him in the kitchen and said hello.

I had to go to work. Elizabeth took Simone to the Shrine of the Little Flower and apparently they frolicked in the gardens.

They ate some ice cream at Bloomberry. This was somewhat awkward because we both applied for jobs there (we never called them back) and because the lovely lad behind the counter asked us to party with him (we declined) but obviously the craving for ice cream was greater than the social faux pas of returning because here is Simone chomping away:

They returned from Bloomberry and I returned from Godiva and showed Simone some treasures from Awkward Family Photos Dot Com:

Simone left the next day after a talk about politics, education, marriage, perversion, God, child leashes, dysfunction, old boyfriends, new boyfriends, and food that lasted until four in the morning. We do that often. On Sunday Elizabeth and I went with the delightful Bradley downtown for Mass, pizza, Tigers, and Red Wings. This was wonderful. St. Mary's Church was simply the bomb and we both very much enjoyed celebrating Mass in a building that is FREAKING COOL and lifts our minds to the supremely majestic qualities of God.

Yeah the church gets two pictures because let's face it people this building is just off the chain.

After Mass we just kind of walked around Greektown and observed culture, homeless people, pizza, lights, street artists, cars, people and the like:

This one bakery had a great strawberry lookin type deal. I was digging it. We prudently refrained from buying anything in that bakery.

The casino was across the street. Not that we even considered going because we are as poor as a bag of bricks. One day that will change (we hope) but even then we are not good at games and even worse with gambling games so we took this picture and left it at that.

Apparently the Lions are actually winning games this season. We mentally raised our hypothetical hats to them in encouragement as we walked by the stadium.

The Tigers' game was great. We got sunburned. We sat next to a very drunken individual who had driven up from Toledo. Our game experience consisted of playing "would you marry a person who?" with Brad. Some questions were: Would you marry a dwarf? Would you marry an ex convict? Would you marry your sibling's spouse if your poor sibling died? And many other odd things. When we left, no one was married, everyone was hot, the Tigers were winning and our drunken friend from Toledo was still as excited as ever.

Canada was right around the corner.

I had some trouble climbing the circular artwork. My opinion of downtown Detroit is not very high at all. Tis all rather ugly looking except for the church.

I have been to the Joe Louis Arena before to see the Christmas Extravaganza Concert featuring Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews. Elizabeth has not been there before. She was obviously quite enthralled.

CAN I JUST PLEASE MARRY ONE OF THE RED WINGS??!!!!!! THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL AND RED AND WHITE AND TALENTED AND MWAHHHHAHA I WANT TO HAVE ONE OF YOU FOR A HUSBAND.

All in all, it was a great weekend. We are happy. Simone: stay in touch. Red Wings: please date us.

A Lovely Sunday

Today, I decided not to procrastinate any longer on my photography assignment and we packed up our scarves, cameras, and positive attitudes and crept over to Cranbrook.

I do believe we had a fabulous time. Elizabeth is oh so photogenic and has a lovely smile (because her mouth is a normal size) and she cooperated with close to no complaining.

This is one against this modern looking piece of wall. I found a wet black hat on the ground before me which I very promptly tossed into the parking lot.

This one shows off Elizabeth's great new haircut, many thanks to Renee at Alex and Amelio Salon. Anti-thanks to the horrible hair stylists at Great Clips for screwing it up in the first place.

This is me, the photographer. I wear too much blue. Maybe if the Irish decided to have darker complexions I would have more options to chose from like the rest of the world.

This is just freaking adorable, and I mentally pat myself on the back every time I glance at it.

I like this very much. The art structure was less than appealing but red goes quite nicely with that particular scarf so bravo to Theresa and her quit artistic whit.

This just reads: BABE.

MORE TO COME FROM THERESA CORGAN PHOTOGRAPHY!

What We Do For Fun!

So these past few weeks have been, well, interesting?

When Theresa is not working as a chocolatier at Godiva, forcing people to buy unreasonably priced truffles and pestering them with questions and smiling, she is dancing! This makes me very happy because I love Irish dancing so very much and I am so excited to be competing again and getting a crystal packed dress and running everyday woohoo! Running is very relaxing for me. I have been running for an hour a day, which is fantastic for me. I always ask Elizabeth to come but alas she is lazy and she always refuses and would I please stop asking.
I continue to waste ridiculous amounts of time on facebook, youtube, and tumblr instead of working on art homework and literature assignments.
I am learning in literature that there is no truth and no reality and I frankly think that this notion of anti reality is really very stupid and foolish, therefore I am reluctant to read any of that nonsense and the only reason I do is because I want to get a good grade in the class and because I am determined to appear articulate and intelligent amongst the really very ignorant students and really profane professor. This is not a very good reason to study because the ultimate reason for studying anything is to find the truth but how can you find the truth about a theory that says there is none so if you ask me I say dash it all and I read Tolkien instead, thank you.
Elizabeth works twice a week and she gets to wear colorful scrubs instead of a black apron like myself and therefore her job is very nice. I do not particularly like the elderly especially, or helping them anyway, which is terrible really. I prefer selling chocolate to Gucci clad Asians who can afford to drop two hundred American dollars on expensive treats, but I think that Elizabeth's job is more important than mine, so good for her.

We occasionally drop in on my grandmother and my absolutely ridiculous uncle from Texas. That is always a treat because we receive free food and get to pet dogs.

Today we plan to watch the Emmy Awards. We also plan to do a photo shoot for my photography class. Elizabeth will model for me, which will be great.

I miss my family and Elizabeth misses hers. Her family has a webcam and therefore she is in more frequent contact with them, whereas I have a broken phone that limits my communication with dear Ted and Jen.

We constantly try to keep a room clean and fail. We sometimes come into awkward contact with the landlord and her son or the other border, whom we have dubbed Shred Ninja. He is not very chummy and this disappoints us because we would very much like to have a friend to play cards with in the evenings. He also is rude because the bathroom schedule has yet to be communicated and that can be a bit of a problem sometimes.

Simone now has a boyfriend. We laugh. We support her. We also laugh a lot. We try to take our jealousy out on the wall by punching it, or at least Elizabeth does. Elizabeth was asked out by a delightfully short and obnoxiously ridiculous fellow named Shane this week, so that is somewhat of a comfort but alas not much because a bum from community college asking you out is not at all the same as a dapper, dynamically radical Catholic young man asking you out, thank you very much. Of course, neither has happened to Theresa so she is the least comforted of all.

We bought a coconut cream pie on the clearance freezer (if that's what you call it?) at Meijer. It is delicious.

We have looked up clubs. This seems like a bad idea to us. We want to meet reliable young men and if I was a reliable young man I would not be looking for reliable young girls at a dancing club. This is disappointing. It would be great if there was a club without grinding people and alcohol but what is the point of a club then. So we really don't plan on going.

More posts to follow!
